Here We Explain Why You Need A CPH Number

Firstly it is illegal to keep a pet pig without a CPH number, you must have one and we need to see the original paperwork, otherwise the piglet can not leave us.

It is no problem to get one so do not worry, they are free and generally arrive by post within 14 days.

CPH stands for "County Parish Holding" it is needed in case of disease ourbreak so the authorities can track who has pigs and where.  A CPH number is issued by RPA "Rural Payments Agency", they will generally ask you for your address and how many pigs you will have on your land and some other questions, thats it, it is incredibly staight forward.

Everyone who buys a baby micro pig from us must have a CPH (County Parish Holding) number, this is free and very easy to get, it takes upto 2 weeks for it to come through, you can visit them here

RPA GOV HOME PAGE or telephone on 0845 603 7777

Once you get your piglet home you should inform your local animal health department, they will then send you your own herd number, sometimes they send it automatically when you get your CPH as they did ours, but make sure to chase it up if you dont hear from them.  We will provide you with all the information you need to do this.
